Behind the #Business Video: How To Business Card Tips + Why MOO?
March 6, 2014
This week, I wanted to dive into creating my business cards and brochures for Capture Memories on Video. To take a 'Behind the Business' look into how I created my business cards, what I recommend you put on your business cards, and why I used MOO for my business card printing, watch my recent YouTube video.
When someone introduces me to their business, blog, or any offering, I always look for certain elements on their business card. I'm a visual-type, who enjoys seeing and learning more about them and what they have to offer.
How To Business Card Tips
Here's some of the how-to tips that I have learned along the way, for putting together your business cards.
Name - This is obviously important for potential customers or clients to know who's running the business
Position in the Business - This will help people know where you fit in the stream of things when it comes to the business. On my card I note that I am the 'Owner and Videographer', so they know that I am the right person to speak to about my video recording packages, for questions, and inquiries.
Website - This is something that I look for on a business card because I like to see the overall picture for a particular company. The website helps me to see everything that is offered, pricing, location, and how I can contact them. I will often bookmark a particular website for later referencing also.
Email Address - This is important because some people like to send correspondences to an email instead of having to call, wait on hold, or hear an automated message over the phone. It's easy to do and get feedback on a simple question or about a product or service.
Phone Number - This is important most of the time if you are a local business or in my case when working with a certain demographic. I am a local, small business, focusing on helping senior citizens. I know, from personal experience, that seniors like to call for a service over the phone instead of going online. I provide my local business number for them and also provide a way for their children or other family members and businesses to contact me by registering online for them.
Social Media Icons - I recently learned about putting social media icons on my business cards, sharing my social media presence. I think this idea is brilliant. With so many people connecting with businesses and brands, online, even senior citizens, I find that it is another way to develop a relationship with potential customers and clients.
Why I Use MOO for Business Card Printing
When it comes to printing my business cards, I have learned that quality really DOES matter. When I printed my production company business cards with MOO, I was SO impressed by the color quality, the durability of the paper stock, and the size of the cards. I printed using the Classic style for my business cards, which provides a heavy paper with silky finish. This stock was chosen by Moo for its great print quality and luxurious, thick feel. It's also available in a gloss finish.
For my business, here at Capture Memories on Video, I want to showcase a family-focused atmosphere, with professionalism, that I bring to each of my video recording packages. I also wanted this same level of business to be displayed in my business cards.
