CaptureMemoriesonVideo.com Talks St. Vincent Meals on Wheels & Ancestry Tips
January 30, 2014
I hope you're having a fantastic day!
For this week's tips and updates, I wanted to share a video of what I have been up to around town and here at Capture Memories on Video.
St. Vincent Meals on Wheels Kitchen Tour
On Tuesday, I had the opportunity to take a kitchen tour of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, here in Los Angeles, CA. St. Vincent MOW provides meals to senior citizens in need and they also help other organizations as well.
I have seen St. Vincent Meals on Wheels in action, bringing meals to some of my past senior clients. The seniors were so grateful for the visit and the meals. However, that's just the tip of the iceberg when you actually take a tour of the kitchen and see how all of the volunteers and employees work. They are so detailed and double check their work diligently to make sure that every senior's meal is correct. Many of the meals for the seniors, I noticed, were low sodium. Everyone worked with a bright smile and I could tell that they enjoyed what they did.
I was greets and informed of their process by Daryl Twerdahl, who is the Executive Director of the St. Vincent Meals on Wheels Foundation. I also had the chance to meet Sister Alice Marie Quinn, who definitley keeps St. Vincent MOW pressing forward at all cost. Here's a collage of pics from the day on My Instagram. In the YouTube video, I share some other experiences I saw there.
This was another reason for me to press forward to make sure that Capture Memories on Video is the go-to service for senior citizens to have their lifestories, love stories, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and more, saved for future generations on video. They have so much to share and I am definitely looking forward to working with many senior citizens this year.
Did you get the chance to read the last two Wednesday posts? If not, that's a great place to begin if you're looking to learn about your family history, why it's so important, and how to start free. It's never too late to start on this journey of discovery. It's SO important because you never know how your family history could unlock the mysteries in your present life. So, don't delay! Make sure to grab hold of the senior members in your family and start asking those questions. Before you know it, they will be gone and the answers to your family history will be gone with them forever.
